Rentabode offers a wide range of privately-owned vacation properties that are rented to qualifying guests. Located in the beautiful Huron Shoreline, Bruce Peninsula and Georgian Bay areas, these properties offer unique accommodation at very affordable rates. When you finally get away on vacation, you don't want to worry about where you will be staying. Rentabode has selected a variety of private vacation properties that are clean, well-cared for and in many cases we have personally inspected them. We offer the type of accommodation that we would like to stay in.

Most of these properties are privately owned and are a family’s vacation home. Rentabode acts as both a listing service and agent on behalf of the property owner to facilitate the financial transaction and assist if there are any problems that occur during the rental period. Guests are required to complete a detailed information form and sign an agreement outlining the rules for use of the property. Guests should remember that most of these properties are a family’s vacation home and should be treated as carefully as you would your own. Note: unless it is explicitly mentioned in the property listings reservations are not accepted by individuals less than 21 years of age.

The Rentabode property database can be accessed by region, type, and availability dates or by means of a custom query where you input several criteria. This will return a list of all properties that match your requirements. It is advisable that you enter the most important criteria first to narrow down the range of matches and then review the listings. If you enter too many criteria, it is possible that no property will match all of your requirements. Usually, there are some requirements that you can do without and others that you can’t. Each search page includes How To instructions to simplify searching.

Check the pictures and review the accommodation information provided on feature listings. If there are questions unanswered, you can contact us via phone, e-mail or fax. Pay close attention to restrictions such as the maximum number of occupants, whether pets are allowed and nonsmoking requirements. These rules must be observed and failure to do so can result in a loss of your security deposit or cancellation of your reservation.

Be sure to check the availability dates on any properties you are interested in before you attempt to place a reservation. It is advisable to have a couple of listings that you are interested in and if possible, more than one rental date. This will provide you with some options. It is possible that a property that is shown as available on the web site has been rented. We attempt to update the availability list as soon as a booking is placed but do not guarantee availability.

Who to Contact
Each listing includes a contact name and phone number which in most cases will be the property owner. If you are to contact Rentabode you will see our name as the contact person. Addresses to properties are not provided for security reasons.

Property Owner Managed Reservations
If the property owner is the contact person, call the number on the screen and work out the booking arrangements and conditions with them. They will notify us if they accept a booking and we will update the property availability dates. In most cases, property owners will require a reservation deposit and may require a security deposit against damage. As these transactions are out of our hands, any issues or disputes must be resolved with the property owner. To assure that you have a happy holiday, be sure to get answers to your questions before you place a reservation.

Rentabode Reservations
Reservations arranged by Rentabode will display our business name and phone number as the contact person. If your call is long distance call our 888-847-2225 number or local 371-8903. Reservations made by Rentabode are subject to a non-refundable $26.75 transaction fee, per reservation, which includes the applicable GST.

Telephone reservations are available only if you use Visa or Mastercard. A credit card can be used for your security deposit and payment of the entire rental amount. Reservations made by phone are only held for a period of 7 days allowing sufficient time for you to complete and send a signed rental agreement. This form can be submitted by mail or faxed to 519-371-4043.

When you call we expect you to have the following information ready.

> The reference number of the property.
> The dates that you are interested in renting.
> Personal identification such as Social Insurance or Driver’s License.
> Your age and birth date.
> Phone number and e-mail address.
> Credit card number.
> Home insurance policy number and agent information.

A deposit of 30% of the total rental amount plus the transaction fee of $26.75 is required when you submit the completed rental agreement. The balance of the rental amount is due at least 30 days before your rental starts. If your rental starts within 30 days or less from the date of reservation, the entire rental amount plus the $26.75 transaction fee must be submitted with your completed application.

When you reserve a property you will be required to complete a damage waiver and provide a security deposit of $200 or a Credit Card number against which charges will be placed.             

You may use either VISA or MASTERCARD for your security deposit or your entire rental amount. Your card expiry date must be at least 40 days after the rental date.
